The HEFT was invented in Canada and pitched to Dragon's Den, which is the Canadian version of (and from what we're told the inspiration behind) Shark Tank. The HEFT was selected for a deal and for a couple of years blew up sales-wise in Canada, selling over 400,000 units!

In 2016, GAIM met the inventor Marco Longley and worked on developing an updated and improved HEFT. After some refinements and design upgrades, the HEFT is now made at GAIM and is a U.S. product. You can find the HEFT in Canadian retailers, Lowe's and Home Hardware, at U.S. retailers including Do It Best, selected Ace Hardware stores.
